Who We Are
Strainingclear is an independent editorial platform based in Australia. We compare and review online learning platforms to help Australian learners make confident, informed decisions about where to invest their time and money. We are not affiliated with any platform we review, and we do not accept payment for editorial rankings or favourable coverage.
Our team is led by Mia Harrington, Editor-in-chief, who has spent over eight years reviewing education technology products and online learning services across the Asia-Pacific region. Mia holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Melbourne and has contributed to technology and education publications across Australia and New Zealand.

Mia has eight years of experience reviewing education technology and online learning platforms across Australia and the Asia-Pacific. She holds editorial responsibility for all platform reviews and scoring published on Strainingclear. Mia personally tests every platform featured on this site and applies the same 10-point scoring rubric consistently across all reviews.
Our Methodology
Every platform reviewed on Strainingclear is assessed using the following process:
- Account creation and enrolment - our team creates a real paid or free account on every platform, enrolling in at least one complete course.
- 30-day active testing period - we use the platform as a genuine learner for a minimum of 30 days, documenting the enrolment process, content quality, support responsiveness, and certificate delivery experience.
- Scoring across 10 criteria - each platform receives individual scores for content quality, instructor expertise, certificate value, platform usability, pricing transparency, mobile experience, offline access, customer support, course update frequency, and community features.
- Quarterly review cycle - all scores are reviewed and updated quarterly, or sooner when a platform announces significant changes.
No platform is ranked based on commercial arrangements. Affiliate links on this site may generate a commission if you sign up via them, but this has no bearing on editorial scores or rankings.
